James Vig Sherrill is a serial technology entrepreneur whose companies have generated over $490 million in revenue and investment in the Knoxville, TN area. Beginning his career as an award-winning researcher at the David Sarnoff Research Center, he has founded and led multiple pioneering ventures, including Audio Animation (digital audio), ASIC International (semiconductors, acquired by Flextronics), TradeWinds (RFID), and GridSmart (intelligent traffic systems, acquired by Qubic).
Currently, Mr. Sherrill is the Founder of General Graphene, which has revolutionized the cost-effective production of graphene to become the world’s largest producer by 2022. He holds numerous patents, serves on multiple boards, and earned his BSEE from Purdue University and his MSEE from Rutgers and Princeton University.
